Lessons Learned From Business Owners, Part III

Over the 20+years I have had the pleasure and privilege of meeting with groups of business owners, there are some lessons learned from them that come up over and over. This is the last of three weekly blogs that lists those lessons.

8. Maintain the culture as the company grows. This can be done. It takes work but if you like the culture of your company and want to keep it working, the work is worth it.

9. Maintain some balance in your life. Even if you love your work and/or are consumed by it, you have to have the rest of your life: family, fun, relaxation. If you commit to it, it will be there.

10. Stop every so often and congratulate yourself for keeping it going. Your success can ripple through many lives; your family, your employees and their families and your customers.
